Our politics in Australia is nasty today, I don't remember it always being this way

Once there were men of vision and substance, they cared for Australia and her people. They took on public office as a service to the public. Not anymore. Today we have a collection of hacks, fraudsters, spin doctors and twits (not all of them of course), they are advised by a group of children. Children that have no idea, desperate to be the next in line for a seat.

Their party infrastructure riddled with vested interests, a commercial corps, ready to sell Australia, her resources, human capital, her potential as a nation to the highest bidder, no matter where they are from, or what they want to achieve. We are a product to the political class, a product they can sell, for gains while in office, or a retirement fund in the future.

The system has closed ranks, it protects itself from all threats. Talent, care, vision and integrity is ostracised, ridiculed, slammed and excluded. The red team and the blue team, the green and the Teal, they like the cushy status quo, they prefer the company of one another, it is easier that way. They focus on loud shouty talking points. There is no substance. They follow a common 'narrative', not caring who writes the script. They bankrupt us, they flog us, they use and abuse us, while looking down on the population of Australia from their box seats at the State of Origin. They barrack publicly for a team they don't care about. Their sport is like their work, for show, cynical maybe, true, certainly. The religion of the day is whatever scientism is dishing up, all aboard oblivion railroad. Next stop, pain.

We Australians are punished for crimes we did not commit by 'leaders' who stand for absolutely nothing of value. It is nasty, because it is empty.

There is no purpose, there is no care, there is only a promise of more of the same. We need strong, courageous leaders to step up and step out.

Those who would truly be there to provide a service, those who have better perks in their daily lives than the politicians today, maybe that is the alure of Trump, he does not need the job. He does better without it.

There are many here on X in Australia that fit this very description.

Step up.

It comes at a high price, your life will never be the same, but what is service without struggle, what is reward without risk and what is Australia really worth to you?

It is not too late, we can turn the tide. Let's just get Australia back. #auspol
